The Sedan Blue Devils and head coach Mick Holt will look to level their record tonight after a season-opening 40-26 loss to Central.

 

The Blue Devils won the matchup against the Raiders each of the past two years by scores of 42 and 34, but were unable to continue that trend on the road last Friday.

 

An injury to a starter playing both offensive line and defensive end just before kickoff forced the Blue Devils to adjust on the fly, and Sedan found itself down 14-0 early, but Holt says his team played well despite the absence of one of its key players.

 

Sedan will host Cedar Vale tonight after the Spartans got off to a strong start, taking down West Elk 54-8 on the road last week. Holt says Cedar Vale has an experienced quarterback and speedy receivers that his defense will have to prepare for. 

 

Sedan has dropped its season opener each of the past four years but has bounced back with a Week 2 win each time. The Blue Devils will look to do it again against a Cedar Vale team they fell to in overtime last year, 28-22.
