Labette County starts the season 1-0 with a shutout 36-0 victory over county rival Parsons.
Labette County is coming off a 9-2 season and have a target on their back for this season. The Grizzlies are replacing a lot of talent that graduated last season. Head Coach Bradley Argabright says he was impressed with how the underclassmen played on Friday night.
The Grizzlies will take on Frontenac for their Week 2 matchup at home. The Raiders also started their season 1-0 with a 15-13 win over Baxter Springs. Coach Argabright says even though Frontenac is a smaller school at 3A he knows how talented they are as a program.
Labette is looking for their 10th straight regular season home win and they have not lost at home in the regular season under Coach Argabright. They are 10-2 in their last 12 home games with the two losses coming in the playoffs to Bishop Miege.
