The Kansas Jayhawks are two days away from a big early-season test against the 23rd-ranked Missouri Tigers in a Border War at David Booth Kansas Memorial Stadium.

 

Both teams are coming off season-opening victories, with the Jayhawks looking for revenge after falling to Missouri 42-31 in Columbia last season.

 

Leipold felt good about his team coming off the Week 1 win over Long Island, pointing to the efficiency of the offense and the consistency the Jayhawks showed throughout the game.

 

The Missouri-Kansas rivalry dates back to 1891 and was on a 14-year hiatus before last season’s matchup renewed the heated rivalry. Leipold says the Jayhawks will have to be at their best with a strong Missouri team coming to Lawrence.

 

The Jayhawks will look to start 2-0 and claim bragging rights in a Border War that’s been going on for more than a century, with Missouri leading the all-time series 59-54-9. Game coverage begins at 5:30 on Classic Hits 104.1, with kickoff set for 7 this Friday.
