The Caney Valley Bullpups are looking to start 2-0 for the second straight season, with head coach Criss Davis and his team preparing for their Week 2 matchup against Fredonia.
The Bullpups picked up a commanding road win over Eureka last week, scoring three touchdowns within the first four minutes of the game.
Caney Valley will look to keep the offense rolling in Week 2 when the Bullpups host Fredonia. Davis praised his defense but says there’s still room for improvement, particularly in the passing game and with tackling.
The Yellowjackets and Bullpups met in Week 6 last season, with Caney Valley scoring 60 points in the first half on its way to a 66-32 victory. The Bullpups have plenty of playmakers at their disposal, and Davis says he was pleased to see his players back in action on both sides of the ball.
Davis and the Bullpups will look to keep their momentum going in their home opener, with a chance to showcase all three phases in front of their home crowd. Pregame coverage begins at 6:30 with kickoff set for 7:00 on US 98.
