The Cherryvale Chargers are preparing for their Week 1 matchup against Fredonia, with head coach Harry Hester set to face former Cherryvale assistant coach Lucus Lanning, who is now in his first year as head coach of the Yellowjackets.

 

The matchup will feature two coaches who know each other well, but Hester is preaching to his team that it doesn’t matter who lines up across from them.

 

Hester says preparation and hard work will determine who has the better chance of coming out on top.

 

Hester has also emphasized the importance of the little things, particularly for his players up front, as the Chargers look to get off to the right start.

 

Cherryvale will travel to Fredonia this Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff, with both the Chargers and Yellowjackets looking to start the season 1-and-0.
