The Cherryvale Chargers and head coach Harry Hester are into their second week of practice, with the team already getting a scrimmage under its belt after competing amongst themselves Saturday.
Hester returned to Cherryvale in 2025 after five years away and has spent more than half of his head coaching career with the Chargers, including a 12-year stint from 2008 through 2019.
Cherryvale enters this season with just one senior on the roster, something Hester says he has never experienced during his coaching career. Despite the youth, Hester says he likes the chemistry between the younger classes after the Chargers went 5-and-3 during the regular season last year.
With opening night now less than two weeks away, Cherryvale will look to carry that physical, hard-nosed approach from practice into the regular season.
