Veterans Lead Red Ravens Softball to Strong Conference Start

Coffeyville Community College Softball is off to a strong start to their Jawhawk Conference schedule, going 2-2 last week.

The Lady Red Ravens have done it with the help of some of their best players. In the circle, they have depended on a trio of pitchers, says coach Ashton Friend.

Closer Katelynn Siess is one of three sophomores on this year's team. The other two are the leaders in their lineup.

Raya Eilert is hitting .479 in her second season, which is good for third-best in the entire conference. Fellow sophomore Kaylee Henderson has slugged seven home runs, third most in the Jawhawk.

Coach Friend is hopeful these Lady Red Raven veterans will get opportunities to play at four-year schools.

Coffeyville hosts non-conference Eastern Oklahoma State College today for a doubleheader starting at 1 p.m.
