Wichita State and Tulsa to Meet in NIT Quarterfinal

Following their Sunday wins, Tulsa will host Wichita State on Tuesday night in the quarterfinal round of the National Invitation Tournament.

Top-seeded Tulsa advanced with a 77-66 win over UNLV. The Golden Hurricane snagged 18 offensive rebounds, dominating the boards with a +26 margin.

Meanwhile, Wichita State traveled to Stillwater to take on Oklahoma State. The Shockers outscored the Cowboys by 19 in the second half to prevail 96-70. Senior guard Kenyon Giles scored 28 points in the win.

That sets the stage for the fourth matchup this season between Tulsa and Wichita State. The American Athletic Conference foes split a pair of games in February, before Tulsa topped the Shockers 81-68 in the conference tournament semifinal.

Giles has had the Golden Hurricanes number this year, dropping a season-high 31 points in the February 14 installment, and has averaged 25 against them across three games.

The final meeting between the schools tips off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday; the game is televised on ESPN2.

The winner advances to the NIT final four in Indianapolis next week, facing either New Mexico or Saint Joseph's.
