Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College baseball team opened conference play with the Allen County Red Devils, finishing with a four-game split after two wins at home, and two defeats in Iola.

The series opener featured a pitchers duel at Walter Johnson Park, with each offense struggling to piece together baserunners against the starting pitchers. CCC scored the game's first run on a Kyle Provence sacrifice fly, before Shawn Bareno delivered a game-winning RBI single in the 5th inning. Yale Griffiths earned the win with five strong innings, and Nicholas Westendorp collected his second save.

The Ravens were able to sweep the home half of the series, dominating 13-0 in Game 2. Omar Ruiz turned in a quality start, with six strikeouts in six strong innings. Freshman Max Irwin homered three times, driving in six runs in the win.

The Red Devils flipped the script in Game 3, scoring six runs in the opening inning and 14 runs in the first three innings. Colton Reudy collected two hits, but Coffeyville pitching surrendered 14 hits and 18 total runs.

Allen County earned the series split with a win in a shootout finale, with the teams combining for 34 runs on 32 hits. Reudy, Logan Matthews, and Webb Fern all homered for CCC, with Carson Beck and Irwin finishing with multiple hits as well.
Following the Allen County series, the Red Ravens sit at 7-9 on the season, and 2-2 in conference play. The team battles Johnson County this week, with two games in Overland Park on Thursday, and two games in Coffeyville on Saturday.
