Coffeyville, Kan. - The Coffeyville Community College women's basketball team was able to snap a brief two-game losing streak, earning a 67-46 win over the Pratt Beavers on Sophomore Night at Nellis Hall.
The Red Ravens opened the game on a 12-0 run, with scores from Aubrey Hishaw, Isabella Pehrson, and Hallie Kitchen. CCC led by 11 points after the opening quarter, and took a 13-point lead to the half.
The Raven defense dialed up the intensity, forcing 22 turnovers and scoring 17 points off those giveaways. Hishaw finished with 16 points and nine rebounds, with Karliey Parker and Pehrson finishing in double figures as well.
All seven departing sophomores (Hishaw, Pehrson, Parker, Kitchen, Nuria Rubio, Sh'Ryah Wright, and Brianna Gist) scored in the final regular season home game of their CCC career.
The Ravens improve to 20-8 on the season, and hold a one-game lead for the fourth seed in the conference standings. The team finishes the regular season on the road, battling Fort Hays Tech Northwest on Saturday and Garden City on Monday.
