The Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens and Independence Community College Pirates split a doubleheader on Monday night at First Oak Bank Fieldhouse.
The Lady Ravens shot 59% from the field in the first quarter and held a 14-point lead early in the 70-33 win over ICC. Esme Smith finished with 17 points, and Aubrey Hishaw had 14 points and eight rebounds.
The men's game went the way of the Pirates, with ICC earning an 81-67 victory. The Pirates went on a 19-2 run early in the game, and held the lead the rest of the night. Trae Lewis had 24 for Independence, while Rashid Kuta led the Ravens with 21 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Ravens are 16-4 on the season, while the men drop to 13-7. Both teams are back at Nellis Hall Wednesday night to host the Seward County Saints. Coverage begins at 5 on US 98.1 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
