KU Wins Sunflower Showdown

Flory Bidunga scores 21 points and grabs 10 rebounds and No. 19 Kansas beats Kansas State 86-62 in the Sunflower Showdown.

Elmarko Jackson adds 19 points for the Jayhawks, who finish with a 27-7 run. Kansas coach Bill Self returns after missing a game because of health issues. The Jayhawks overcome the absence of standout guard Darryn Peterson, sidelined with an ankle sprain. P.J. Haggerty leads Kansas State with 23 points.

Kansas State was short-handed, too. Khamari McGriff and fellow forward Mobi Ikegwuruka have been out with injuries, while starting guard Abdi Bashir remains sidelined after undergoing surgery to repair a stress fracture in his foot.

Kansas wins its fourth straight game and ends a three-game skid against the Wildcats in Manhattan.  Kansas plays No. 13 BYU at Allen Fieldhouse next Saturday, while Kansas State heads to West Virginia on Tuesday night.
