Cherryvale Charger basketball started the new year right, earning a doubleheader sweep of the Galena Bulldogs.

 

The Lady Chargers continued to roll, winning 52-31 in the first game of the night. Cherryvale allowed just seven points in the first half, and the duo of junior Harmony John and sophomore Miah Smith paced the offense.

 

The Charger boys survived a late Galena run to hang on to a 63-59 win. Cherryvale led 58-41 early in the fourth quarter, before the Bulldogs ended the game on an 18-5 run. Remington John, Wyatt Duncan, and Trey Raida all played well for the Cherryvale offense.

 

KGGF will be in Fredonia Friday night, when the Yellow Jackets host the Eureka Tornados.
