Hawaii Edges Cal in Hawaii Bowl

The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors stage a dramatic comeback against the Cal Golden Bears in the Hawaii Bowl to win 35-31 with a last-minutte touchdown pass from a back-up quarterback.

The Golden Bears got off to a hot start in last night's game in Honolulu, as they jumped out to an early 21-0 lead. The Rainbow Warriors found their offense late in the second half adding a touchdown and a field goal to make the half-time score 21-10 in favor of Cal.

The two teams would go back-and-forth, with a late touchdown by Cal to put the Golden Bears in the lead 31-28 with less than two minutes left in the game. Hawaii quarterback Micah Alejado led his team down the field to the 22 yard line, only to be injured with fifteen seconds left on the clock. That left the fate on the game resting on the shoulders of back up quarterback Luke Weaver. Weaver connected with wide receiver Nick Cenacle for a 22-yard touchdown pass to win the game.

The game tied for the largest comeback in school history.
