The Red Ravens return from a Concordia road trip with a doubleheader split against the Cloud County Thunderbirds, in the final road games of the first half of the season.
The Lady Ravens were unable to hold a fourth-quarter lead, being outscored 23-10 in the final ten minutes, and falling to Cloud County 75-68 in the first game. Esme Smith led the team with 23 points and 18 rebounds. Assistant Coach Sam Steinmeyer says the team failed to execute down the stretch.
The men ended the game on a 17-4 run to beat the Thunderbirds 72-68 in a thriller in the nightcap. Konstantin Popovic hit the game-winning three-point shot with 31 seconds, while Daniel Ntambwe led the team with 21 points and six rebounds. Assistant Coach John Weigner says he is proud of the fight and grit shown by the squad.
Both teams end the first half of the season at Nellis Hall on Saturday afternoon, when they host the Colby Trojans in doubleheader action.
