High School State Champs Crowned in Kansas

 

The nine newest state champions in Kansas high school football have been crowned, with state championship games taking place over the weekend in Emporia and Hutchinson.

 

Manhattan is the 6A champions, after defeating Olathe Northwest 27-0. Salina Central win the 5A championship, beating Basehor-Linwood 51-34.

 

Kapaun Mt. Carmel is 4A champions after beating Bishop Miege, their first title since 1987. Andale is the king of 3A for the fifth time in six years, beating Topeka Hayden 38-6.

 

Nemaha Central wins the 2A championship with a 35-6 win over Southeast of Saline. Sterling wins the 1A title for the first time since 1982, beating Rossville 35-34.

 

South Central is the 8-Man Division 1 champion, while Hanover is the champions of 8-Man Division 2. Cunningham beats Weskan to win the 6-Man state title.
