The Red Ravens host the Barton Cougars tomorrow afternoon at Nellis Hall, in a rematch of the Region VI semifinals.

 

Both teams enter the weekend ranked nationally, with Barton at No. 11 and 8-1 on the season, and Coffeyville at No. 15 with a 7-1 record on the year. The two programs saw each other three times last season, with each team winning on their home court, before Barton won in the playoffs at Fort Hays State.

 

Head Coach Jay Herkelman says year after year, the Cougars are one of the toughest team in the country.

 

Coffeyville and Barton were picked first and second in the preseason conference standings, with each team having national championship aspirations. Herkelman says this is the kind of matchup that excites any basketball fan.

 

The Red Ravens and Cougars will tip off tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. CT, immediately following the women's game. Coverage can be heard on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
