Ravens Roll to Doubleheader Sweep of Seward

Red Raven basketball made the most of their first road trip in conference play, completing a doubleheader sweep of the Seward County Saints in Liberal.

The Lady Ravens were able to hand the Lady Saints their first loss in league play, after outscoring Seward County 17-7 in the fourth quarter. Head Coach Tony Turner says it was a great team effort to come away with the win.

Esme Smith led the team with 15 points and 11 rebounds, but the Lady Ravens gained an edge with offensive rebounds and hustle plays. Turner says he gives credit to his leadership for stepping up.

On the men's side the Ravens used a strong shooting night to roll past Seward 78-62 and improve to 7-1 on the season. Konstantin Popovic finished with 19 points on 7-7 shooting. Assistant Coach John Weigner says the guys were dialed in on the offensive end.

Coffeyville won the rebound battle over the Saints 41-24, showcasing interior dominance all night. Weigner says that's important to be one of the best in this conference.

CCC returns to Nellis Hall on Saturday afternoon, welcoming the Barton Cougars for doubleheader action.
