A former Southeast Kansas volleyball star, now playing at Pittsburg State University, received two major awards for her efforts on the court this season.
Anna Dean was selected as All-MIAA first-team, becoming the first player from the program to accomplish that feat since the 2022 season. Dean was also named the inaugural MIAA Blocker of the Year award, after leading the conference in total blocks and blocks per set.
Dean played at Labette County High School, where she was a four-year letter winner and two-time sub-state champion. She began her collegiate career at Hutchinson Community College, where she was two-time All-KJCCC, and second in the NJCAA in total blocks her sophomore season.
