Royals Acquire Tampa Bay Outfielder

The Kansas City Royals made their first addition of the offseason by acquiring a Missouri native from the Tampa Bay Rays.

Outfielder Kameron Misner will be heading to Kansas City, in exchange for a player to be named later or cash consideration.

Misner is 27 years old and a Poplar Bluff, Missouri, native and attended the University of Missouri from 2016-19. He was originally drafted by the Royals out of high school, but was a first-round pick of the Miami Marlins following college in 2019.

Misner played 71 games last season, and hit .213 with a .618 OPS. He became the first player in MLB history to hit his first career home run as a walk-off on Opening Day. Misner is known for plus speed and a strong arm, leading to elite defensive ratings in both center and right field.
