Top Freshman Shines in Jayhawks' Victory

The Kansas Jayhawks roll in their season opener on the basketball court, with the nation's top freshman recruit impressing in his first college game.

Darryn Peterson had 21 points and four rebounds in 22 minutes played, as the Jayhawks routed the Green Bay Phoenix 94-51 at Allen Fieldhouse.

Head Coach Bill Self says he was impressed by Peterson, and a few other starters.

Flory Bidunga had 23 points and six rebounds with three blocked shots, and the Jayhawks shot 57% from the field as a team.

KU will play next on Friday night against the North Carolina Tar Heels.
