Red Raven men's basketball showed why they're the preseason No. 8 team in the nation, scoring 116 points and shooting 63% from the field in a 116-62 win over Southwestern JV.
Freshman point guard Tyson Tucker had 18 points and nine assists in his debut, only missing one shot on the night. Assistant Coach Jordan Bailey says Tucker is the engine that can lead this offense.
Nine different Ravens scored in double figures on the night, including Rashid Kuta with 14, freshman Ulysses Webb with 14, freshman Jeremiah Ibeziako with 13, and sophomore Konstantin Popovic with 12. Bailey says this team's depth gives them a chance to be one of the country's best this year.
Coffeyville returns to the court Tuesday night at Nellis Hall, when they host the Fort Scott Greyhounds. Tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. CT, and can be heard on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
