A new season got off to a fast start for the Lady Ravens, who use a combination of transition offense and pressure defense to race to a 91-32 win over Bethany JV.
Freshman Esme Smith was the team's top scorer, posting 18 points and eight rebounds in her college debut. Aubrey Hishaw finished with 15 points and eight rebounds, and transfer Shae Wright had 14 points and two steals.
Head Coach Tony Turner says the team executed well for the first game.
Coffeyville dished out 17 team assists, with only 11 turnovers, and forced 31 Lady Swedes turnovers. The team will have a quick turnaround, facing the Labette County Cardinals on Tuesday night.
Turner says the team will need to take a step forward this week.
Coverage of CCC and Labette begins Tuesday night at 5 p.m. CT on US 98 and the Red Raven Sports Network.
