The Caney Valley Bullpups advance in Week 9 action by taking care of the Galena Bulldogs 44-12 at Caney Memorial Stadium.

 The Caney defense held on to a "bend but don't break" mentality throughout the 1st half, giving up yards but only giving up one touchdown in the 2nd quarter; a touchdown pass from QB Chase Cottrell to tight end Isaiah Farfan. Galena would score their 2nd TD late in the 4th quarter.

 Wet field conditions caused problems for both teams, including the Bullpups, as they turned the ball over twice in the 1st half, including a bad exchange on the 3-yard line.

 It was back to basics for the Pups in the 2nd half, as the O-Line was able to provide great blocks, leading to big runs by Traxcyn Garton, Jace Buckley, and sophomore Konner Paulie.

 Caney, 8-1 on the season, will host the regional round of the playoffs next Friday against Riverton or Cherryvale.
