The Kansas State Wildcats played their most complete game of the 2025 season, routing the rival Kansas Jayhawks 42-17 in the Sunflower Showdown in Lawrence.
Junior quarterback Avery Johnson rose to the occasion, scoring four total touchdowns with 250 total yards. Wide receiver Jayce Brown had 160 yards in the win as well.
The KSU defense forced four Jayhawk turnovers, with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries. The Wildcats also forced pressure on Jalon Daniels, with four sacks on the afternoon.
Both teams sit at 4-4 on the season, and will be at home in Week 10. The Wildcats host the Texas Tech Red Raiders, while the Jayhawks host the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
