The Caney Valley Bullpups secure the Tri-Valley District Championship after a 48-7 win over the Rams Friday night in Riverton.

 

 The Caney defense was able to convert 6 Riverton turnovers into 21 points, including a pick six by junior Jacob McVey, while the Bullpup O-Line gave Caney's backs space to run several plays up the middle. Caney running backs Traxcyn Garton, Jace Buckley and Boone White overcame slick field conditions for touchdowns, including an 11-yard TD run by White.

 

 A 42-yard TD pass from Layne Denny to McVey extended the lead in the 2nd quarter. Caney led 28-7 at the half.

 

 Caney is the #2 seed in their side of the Class 2A bracket; they will take on #15 seed Galena in the 1st round of the playoffs Thursday night.
