It's a battle of first place against second place in the Jayhawk conference, when the No. 10 Coffeyville Red Ravens travel to Hutchinson to take on the No. 1 Blue Dragons on Saturday night.

 

CCC is 4-2 on the season, with losses to Cisco and Iowa Western. The team is coming off a 34-21 win over Iowa Central, their third win over a Top-10 opponent this season. Hutchinson is 6-0 and defending national champions, coming off conference wins over Dodge City and Independence.

 

The Blue Dragons feature one of the best receivers in the nation in sophomore Derrick Salley, who has 12 touchdowns in six games this season. Head Coach Nick Dobler says the Hutchinson receivers are some of the best in America.

 

Both CCC and Hutchinson rank among the KJCCC leaders in a number of stats on offense and defense. Dobler says this matchup will come down to execution.

 

The Red Ravens and Blue Dragons are the last two undefeated teams in conference play, with the winner of Saturday's matchup in control of their own destiny for a conference championship. CCC Quarterback Mac Armstrong says this is the kind of game you play for.
