The NJCAA has released the preseason national rankings for Division 1 men's and women's basketball, including the Red Raven men's team being the highest ranked team in the Jayhawk conference.
On the women's side, Dodge City is the top conference team, beginning the season ranked No. 4. The Conquistadors won 31 games last season, including the first Region VI championship in program history.
Hutchinson is ranked No. 13 to start the season, while Butler enters the season ranked No. 19. The Lady Ravens are receiving votes to start the 2025-26 season.
On the men's side, Coffeyville is the highest-ranked KJCCC team at No. 8 in the nation. The Ravens finished second in the conference last year with a 23-9 record, and have four players returning from last season's team.
Defending champion Cowley is ranked No. 12 to open the season, while the Barton Cougars enter the year at No. 18. Both Hutchinson and Butler are receiving votes in the preseason polls.
Both the men's and women's teams of Coffeyville Community College open the season on November 1st at Nellis Hall.
