Red Raven men's basketball opens a new season in under three weeks, and the team is hard at work to prepare for the season opener.

 

Coffeyville is led by 31st year head coach Jay Herkelman, and are looking to take another step forward following a 22-win season that ended with a semifinal loss in the Region VI Tournament and failing to qualify for the National Tournament.

 

Herkelman says he's excited about the physicality this year's team is showing early.

 

The Red Ravens have four returners from last season's team, in guards Kaason Thomas and Konstantin Popovic, and forwards Daniel Ntambwe and Rashid Kuta. Herkelman says those four have emerged as great leaders for the team.

 

CCC will be in Kansas City this weekend, and play home scrimmages next Saturday. The team opens the season against Southwestern JV on November 1st.
