The Kansas Jayhawks could not play spoiler in Lubbock, being routed by the Texas Tech Red Raiders 42-17 on Saturday night.
The Jayhawks struggled to run the football, compiling just 74 total team rushing yards on 38 carries. Texas Tech running back Cameron Dickey was phenomenal, rushing for 263 yards and two touchdowns.
KU tight end Boden Groen had a career-high 13 catches for 76 yards and a touchdown, however the Jayhawks were outgained 505-319 on the evening.
KU falls to 4-3 on the season, and 2-2 in conference play. The team is on a bye week, and will prepare to host the Kansas State Wildcats in the Sunflower Showdown next Saturday.
