The Red Ravens were unable to defeat their third-consecutive Top 10 opponent, dropping a game to Iowa Western 35-24 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
Crucial mistakes in the second quarter would cost the Ravens, as Iowa Western returned a blocked punt for a touchdown, as well as scoring another touchdown following a fumbled kickoff by CCC. The Ravens trailed 21-3 at halftime.
Coffeyville would battle back in the second half, scoring a pair of touchdowns to trim the deficit to 21-17. Following a sequence of Reiver penalties, Mac Armstrong would score his first rushing touchdown of the season.
On the next CCC drive, Armstrong found freshman receiver Tyler Jackson for a 34-yard touchdown on a fourth down play.
Coffeyville falls to 2-2 on the season, but are still unbeaten in conference play, and control their own destiny in the KJCCC. The Ravens travel to Highland this weekend for a conference matchup with the Scotties.
