Red Raven football has knocked off a Top-10 nationally ranked conference opponent for the second straight week, beating the rival Butler Grizzlies 31-28 at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
CCC scored the first 17 points of the night, and led 31-7 early in the fourth quarter, before a late Butler rally was stopped just short.
Jordan Louie scored his first touchdown as a Raven, rushing for 64 yards on 14 carries, including a seven-yard score late in the first half.
Wide receiver Khris Thomas continued his impressive start to the season, having three catches for 90 yards and two touchdowns, including a 27- yard score in the third quarter. Thomas now ranks fourth in the league in yards per game, and third in the leauge in touchdowns.
CCC is 2-1 on the season, and stands atop the KJCCC with a 2-0 conference record. The team faces their toughest test yet, hosting the No. 2 Iowa Western Reivers next Saturday afternoon.
