The Galena Bulldogs used timely takeaways and a strong rushing attack to edge Fredonia in the district opener, 24-12.

 

Senior quarterback Chase Cottrell finished with three total touchdowns, and the Bulldog defense forced three turnovers.

 

Yellow Jacket touchdowns were scored by Ethan Bryant in the second quarter, and Kayson Farr with a 90-yard touchdown catch in the fourth quarter.

 

Freodonia travels to county rival Neodesha next week, to battle the Blue Streaks. The Battle for Wilson County will be broadcasted live on Classic Hits 104.1 FM, with coverage beginning at 6:45 p.m. Friday night.
