The West Elk Patriots played their most complete game of the season Friday night, earning their first win of 2025 in a 44-8 victory over Udall.
It's the first win for Head Coach Ian Denton, who took over as coach this summer following the retirement of long time head coach Chris Haag. Denton says this is a great feeling for everyone in the locker room.
The Patriots will look to build momentum and begin a winning streak, hosting the 2-1 Oswego Indians this week. Denton says the Indians play a difficult style of football.
West Elk has three of their next four games at home, with Oswego, Sedan, and Northeast all coming to Howard in the next month.
