Big Defensive Plays Give Caney Homecoming Victory Over Neodesha

Homecoming in Caney saw a great defensive battle between two 2-0 teams, but a forced fumble and costly Neodesha turnovers gave the Bullpups a 22-6 win.

Both defensive units played excellent in the 1st half, keeping the opposing team's offense from scoring on goal line drives. The score was 0-0 at halftime.

Neodesha scored first in the 3rd quarter, but the extra point was wide left, giving the Bluestreaks a 6-0 lead. Neodesha got the ball back and looked to capitalize on a long pass play, but Konnor Paulie's forced fumble gave Caney the ball on their own three yard line. Caney subsequently scored on the ensuing drive, and the two point converstion gave the Bullpups an 8-6 lead at the end of the 3rd quarter.

Caney scored again early in the 4th quarter, and turnovers by the Bluestreaks, including an interception by Paulie, kept them from getting back to the end zone. Traxcyn Garton sealed the game with a 76-yard touchdown run late in the 4th, as Caney improves to 3-0 on the season. Neodesha falls to 2-1.

Caney will take on Christ Prep at home next Friday night.

Before the game, Grace Prince was named Homecoming Queen and Silas Good was named Homecoming King.
