The Cherryvale Chargers made key plays when it mattered most, rallying to defeat Eureka 14-8.
The Tornadoes struck first on a 7-yard touchdown run by quarterback Payton Hare, following a Charger fumble.
Cherryvale would score just before halftime on a 5-yard rush by Wyatt Duncan, leading to an 8-6 Eureka lead at the half.
The second half was a defensive battle, with both teams forcing interceptions. It was Duncan who converted to freshman Brock Carrico on fourth and goal with just minutes left to give Cherryvale the lead.
The Chargers are 2-1 and host Riverton next week, while Eureka suffers their first loss, falling to 2-1. The Tornadoes travel to Humboldt in Week 4.
