Independence High School starts their football season with a 54-34 win over Columbus.

Head Coach Kendall Fiscus says they played a well rounded game but there is still room for improvement.  The Bulldogs host Mulvane for their week two matchup. The Wildcats are coming off a 34-27 loss to Buhler.

Coach Fiscus says Mulvane was just a handful of plays away from winning that game.  After this home matchup with Mulvane, IHS has their next four games on the road traveling to Fort Scott, Coffeyville, Chanute and Eudora.
