Numerous players and coaches from the Minco High School softball team were injured last night in an accident involving a school bus that was carrying the team from a game.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the team bus was traveling on State Highway 152 on the way to Minco, following a game in Anadarko. OHP reports the bus crashed just before 8 p.m. near County Street 2760.
First responders say multiple people were ejected from the bus, which rolled several times before coming to a complete stop. At least six people were injured and transported to area hospitals.
Minco Public Schools Superintendent Kevin Sims released a statement, saying that multiple people on the bus were severely injured in the accident. The district closed school today as a result of the news.
