Chiefs Fall as Worthy Exits Injured

A frustrating opening week for the Kansas City Chiefs got even worse, with young star receiver Xavier Worthy exiting with a shoulder injury.

Worthy left the game in the first quarter after colliding with tight end Travis Kelce, a game which Kansas City lost 27-21. Doctor of Sports Medicine Brian Sutterer says the severity of the injury depends on future imaging.

The Kansas City offense struggled without Worthy on the field, and is already missing Rashee Rice, who is serving a six-game suspension. Sutterer says there are a few ways the injury could play out.

Kansas City will look to get back on track against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
