Fredonia High School football is looking to make the leap to conference title contention in 2025, and kick off their season on Friday night.
The Yellow Jackets have finished 4-5 for the past four seasons, having glimpses of being an elite team but struggling with consistency. The team is led by head coach Marc Svaty, who enters his 10th season leading the program.
The team has one of the most experienced quarterbacks in the Tri-Valley League, in senior Brayden O'Leary, who is a three-year starter. Svaty says they expect big things from the senior quarterback.
Fredonia is considered one of the most talented teams in the conference entering the season. Svaty says the disappointment of last season has motivated the returners.
Fredonia opens with Cherokee Southeast on Friday night.
