The Erie Red Devils kick off their 2025 season in Eureka, and are looking to take the next step as a program.
The team is led by second-year head coach David Pitts, and are aiming for improvement and growth from a 2-7 season a year ago. The team did find a groove in the second half, winning two straight games and finding an offensive identity.
Eureka boasts some of the best senior talent in the area, with speed and athleticism that is among the best in the Tri-Valley League. Pitts says the team will have to limit mistakes on Friday night.
The Tornados handled the Red Devils 28-6 in their matchup last season, with the combination of Erie turnovers and Eureka big plays proving to be costly. Pitts says he wants to see four complete quarters from his football team.
Erie and Eureka kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
