Royals Call Up Top Prospect

The Kansas City Royals are taking advantage of roster expansion, calling up one of their top prospects to make his Major League debut.

Catcher Carter Jensen has been called up from Triple-A Omaha, and will debut with the team this week. Jensen is a Kansas City native, having played at Park Hill High School before being a third-round pick in the 2022 draft.

Jensen ranks as the organization's No. 2 overall prospect and the No. 88 prospect in Major League Baseball. He has built a reputation for having promising offensive ability, and his power developed in Omaha, where he hit 14 home runs in 43 games.

Across time at both Double-A and Triple-A, Jensen hit .288 with a .404 on-base percentage and an OPS over 1.000. Kansas City sits 2.5 games out of a Wild Card sport as the season enters the final month.
