The Independence Pirates were able to bounce back quickly from a season-opening loss to Trinity Valley, routing the Ellsworth Panthers on the road, 51-14, on Saturday.

 

ICC was able to take a commanding lead, after scoring 16 points in the first quarter, and 21 points in the second quarter.

 

Quarterback Keegan Anderson completed 17 of 27 passes, for 298 yards and four touchdown passes. The Pirates were also able to run for 133 yards as a team in the victory.

 

The ICC defense forced three turnovers, and limited the Panthers to just 58 yards rushing on the afternoon.

 

The Pirates are 1-1 on the season, and travel to Miami to take on the NEO Norsemen on Saturday night.
