The Jayhawk Conference has plenty of recognition in the preseason NJCAA Division 1 polls, including the Red Ravens opening the season ranked No. 16 in the nation.
Defending national champion Hutchinson opens the season as the top team in the country, receiving all 12 first-place votes. Iowa Western opens the polls in the No. 2 spot, after dropping the national championship game to the Blue Dragons.
Garden City is the next highest league team, opening the season ranked No. 7, while Butler opens at the No. 13 spot.
Iowa Central opens the season at No. 15, while the Red Ravens are No. 16, and Dodge City opens at No. 19.
KJCCC football kicks off this weekend, with both Independence and Dodge City in action on Saturday.
