The Kansas City Chiefs have locked up another key piece long-term, agreeing to a four-year extension with defensive end George Karlaftis.
The deal is worth $93 million total, with $62 million guaranteed, and keeps Karlaftis in Kansas City through the 2030 season.
Head Coach Andy Reid says the signing was great news to start training camp.
Karlaftis is one of the league's best young edge rushers, with 24.5 sacks in his first three seasons, including eight sacks and 28 total quarterback hits last season. Reid says Karlaftis is one of the leaders of the KC defense.
The contract makes the defensive end the 10th-highest paid edge rusher in the NFL, making $23.25 million per season.
