Royals Acquire Adam Frazier in Trade

The Kansas City Royals have made an addition in preparation for the second half, acquiring a familiar face from the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Kansas City acquired utility player Adam Frazier, in exchange for minor league infielder Cam Devanney.

Frazier spent the 2024 season with the Royals, hitting .202 in 294 plate appearances, while also playing second base, third base, left field, and right field. His numbers are better this season in Pittsburgh, slashing .255 with a .318 on-base percentage in 262 plate appearances.

KC prioritized adding a veteran presence to the bench that can contribute in a variety of ways. General Manager JJ Picollo says the team will continue to monitor where they can make additions.

Frazier will be with the team when they open the second half against the Miami Marlins tomorrow night.
