An additional pair of Kansas City Royals will be on the roster for tonight's All-Star Game, being named replacements for the American League team.
Infielder Maikel Garcia and relief pitcher Carlos Estevez were both named to the all-star team, replacing players who opted out due to rest or fatigue.
Garcia is hitting .297 this season in 95 games, with 40 runs batted in, and a team best .354 on-base percentage. Estevez was an offseason free agent signing, who has posted a 2.36 earned run average in 42 innings with 25 saves, serving as the team's primary closer.
Kansas City now has four players on the roster for tonight's game, with the replacements joining shortstop Bobby Witt Jr and starting pitcher Kris Bubic on the AL team.
