Royals Walk Off Mets to End First Half

The Royals ended the first-half of the season in style, winning in walk-off fashion to beat the New York Mets 3-2 in the final game before the All-Star break.

Kansas City took an early 2-0 lead in the second inning on a double from outfielder John Rave. The Mets would respond, however, scoring twice in the top of the ninth to tie the game.

In the bottom of the ninth, it was Nick Loftin who emerged as the hero for the Royals.

Kansas City enters the break with a 47-50 record, and currently sit 12 games back in the division standings, and 4.5 games back in the Wild Card race. The team returns to the field Friday night, when they travel to Miami to battle the Marlins.
