Jerome Tang has brought in a former mid-major head coach with plenty of D1 success, to be the new Associate Head Coach with the Kansas State Wildcats.
Matthew Driscoll resigned following 16 years as the head coach at North Florida University, and will become the top assistant coach for KSU effective immediately. He says the recent landscape changes in college basketball made this an enticing opportunity.
Driscoll and Tang have known each other for more than two decades, including six years on staff together at Baylor under Scott Drew. Driscoll says Tang is one of the best coaches in the sport.
North Florida had one of the country's best offenses, winning three conference championships, and consistently scoring over 80 points per game. Driscoll says he'll be focusing on improving the tempo of the Wildcat offense.
The Ospreys finished last season 15-17, and had lost five different players to Power 5 schools in the transfer portal.
