The 2025 NFL Draft is in the rear view mirror, and the Kansas City Chiefs were able to add depth at a number of positions with their selections.
In the first round, KC selected offensive tackle Josh Simmons out of Ohio State, a potential Top 10 talent who fell due to a serious knee injury he suffered last season. Simmons still brings plenty of upside and is the potential left tackle of the future for the Chiefs.
On Day 2, Kansas City selected Tennesee defensive lineman Omarr Norman-Lott in the second round, Louisville edge rusher Ashton Gillotte in the third round, and California defensive back Nohl Williams in the third round. Norman-Lott brings nice size and versatility on the line, while Gillotte was a very productive pass rusher in college. Williams was a ball hawk in college, creating plenty of turnovers for the Golden Bears.
The final day of the draft saw the Chiefs select three more players; Utah State wide receiver Jalen Royals in the fourth round, Oregon linebacker Jeffrey Bassa in the fifth, and SMU running back Brashard Smith in the seventh. Royals was a consistent player who can get open all over the field, while Bassa is more of a project piece that brings promising athleticism and size, and Smith brings dynamic ability and big-play potential to the running back room.
